About Me

My name is Caitlin Russell, I am currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am studying Public Relations and Advertising within the Hussman School of Journalism and Media. I also participate in a work-study program at the Carolina Veterans Resource Center where I handle their social media and monthly newsletter. I transferred to UNC-CH from Southern New Hampshire University where I received my Associates in Business Administration. During this time, I also served in the U.S. Air Force as a Public Affairs photojournalist. While in the military, I was stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, and Fort George G. Meade, Md. My favorite parts of serving in the military included getting to explore Alaska; dangling my feet out of a MC-130; flying in a Black Hawk several times; and photographing military exercises. Outside of student life at UNC-CH, I enjoy reading, thrifting, playing with my two extremely cute lab-pitbulls, jonesing for my next sky-diving adventure, spending time with my spouse, and hanging out with friends and family.
